The Possible Futures of Education

Participants explore the past, present, and future of education in the United States. They discover what has been learned to date about transforming education so that all students can be welcomed, valued, empowered, supported, and learning in mixed-ability classrooms. The legal, fiscal, research-based and philosophical rationales for inclusive schooling will be presented. Through elementary, middle and secondary examples, they will learn about the characteristics of and the redefined roles of school personnel in genuinely inclusive classrooms and schools.
